The story
About Thorn Hill
Thorn Hill is a small unincorporated community in rural northeastern Grainger County. One of the biggest chapters in its recent history was road building. In 1976 work began on widening US 25E into a four lane highway from Thorn Hill across Clinch Mountain to Bean Station. It was finished in 1980, after state engineers dealt with several landslides along the way.
