East Tennessee / Sevier County
Sevier County TN Real Estate
Sevier County was settled by pioneers in the middle 1700s, on land the Cherokee had used as hunting ground for generations. The county and its seat, Sevierville, are named for John Sevier, who became the first governor of Tennessee. Today the county is best known as the front door to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in the country.
Sevierville is the county seat and the hometown of Dolly Parton, and her statue stands on the courthouse lawn. Pigeon Forge grew up around Dollywood and a long run of shows, shops and family attractions. Gatlinburg sits right at the park entrance on the Parkway, with its walkable downtown and mountain views in every direction.
Step away from the Parkway and the county slows down. Wears Valley and Pittman Center are quiet mountain valleys, Boyds Creek and Seymour are farm country and small town living, and Kodak is minutes from Interstate 40 and the road to Knoxville. People move here for a cabin, a home in town, a place with acreage, or a base that is close to everything the Smokies offer.

I spent a good part of my life running like a bull, only to eventually discover I was standing in a china shop. I broke a few things. Fell down more than a few times. And somewhere along the way, by the grace of God, I learned that getting back up can teach a man considerably more than never falling in the first place.
So, if you're looking for the normal Realtor bio, I should probably apologize now. This isn't one.
